Digital Collections
To protect all materials within the scope of cultural heritage, transfer them to future generations, and provide easy and fast access to resources regardless geographical and social boundaries, IRCICA carries out digitization works since 2008.
With these works the written, printed, and audio-visual materials are scanned with standard scanners and their metadata are prepared in accordance with international standards and rules to create digital collections. In addition, rare printed books are presented to researchers in a readable, editable and easily usable format after the OCR processing.
When creating Digital Collections, materials on subjects suitable for IRCICA’s fields of activity are selected first and the priority order of digital collections is determined by considering the requests of IRCICA researchers and certain features such as the physical condition of the material. Materials protected by intellectual property and copyrights are made available to general use with the permission of their owners.
IRCICA Library and Archive continues its work and projects with the awareness and responsibility of supporting researchers with its rich digital collections consisting of materials in different types and formats.
